A spacious craftsman-built home perched on a ridge at the edge of the park. You will enjoy beautiful mountain views out every window, while savoring your morning coffee or a glass of wine on the upper or lower decks. You won't even notice the lack of a TV. There is a full kitchen complete with a crock pot and coffee maker, and an outdoor grill for preparing meals with your family or friends. Spacious bedrooms and comfortable beds ensure you’ll get a good nights sleep before heading out on your Denali adventures. Providing an alternative to the crowding noise and traffic of Denali’s hotel strip, our house was designed with a focus on providing relaxing spaces for hanging out, socializing or solitude. Our home has been featured in Travel & Leisure's "7 Stunning Homes Near National Parks You Can Book on VRBO." There is room in the house for a maximum of 10 people. There is one downstairs bedroom and three bedrooms upstairs. For new parents, a pack & play is located in the upstairs closet. It costs $50 a night for each additional person over 6 guests. If you want to have more than 6 people, please keep in mind that there is only one shower (in downstairs bath). Upstairs, there is a half bath and a sink, a washer and a dryer. Minimum stay two nights, please. At times, we will get that odd night that is available between two bookings. We will consider waiving the two night minimum stay in unique cases like this. If you plan to arrive by train to Denali, you will need a rental car to get around the local area and to our house. "Keys to Denali" and "Alaska Auto Rental" located locally in Healy offers rental vehicles (including 12-passenger vans) and railroad depot pick-up and drop-offs. Be sure to book in advance. For a fly over of the house, go to Denali Sunset House on youtube. You will have access to the entire house, except the garage. This includes upstairs and downstairs decks, the yard surrounding the house, and of course you can step into endless wilderness just by walking down our driveway. We are located a mile off the Parks Highway, just a 10 mile drive to the Denali Park Visitor Center and the train depot, and the main hotel/restaurant and shopping zone. A few restaurants, and a nice locally owned cafe and art gallery are located within two miles, as is the trailhead for the popular Triple Lakes hike (no fishing license required inside the park). We live close by. You can reach us by text or phone. Terry is around in the mornings, and Becky is usually around in the afternoon and evenings, so one of us is usually available to answer questions or offer advice on the local area. We would suggest that you buy your groceries in Fairbanks or Anchorage. Although, there is a small supermarket 20 miles north in Healy. There are convenience stores around here, but they are limited and more expensive. We provide all linens, dish soap, trash bags, paper towels and toilet paper. A coffee maker is provided. The 1.5 mile road from the highway to our house is a maintained gravel road. It should not pose any problem for any vehicle. We hope you enjoy the books and board games. There is no TV.

Please contact us if you need anything during your stay. Guests have full access to all rooms of the Harbor House except mechanical room and office. You must have a vehicle. There is not public transportation to vacation rentals. We are in a small community 1.5 miles off of Highway 3 (Parks Highway). You will find peace and solitude. The Harbor House is the only Rental on the 2.5 acres. You will have the ENTIRE house to yourself, a private gas fire pit, a BBQ grill and the best wrap around deck in Denali. The Revine Creek Retreat guest apartment is a charming little retreat nestled in a private neighborhood, surrounded by spectacular forest & mountain views. It is conveniently located 8 miles from the entrance to Denali National Park and Preserve; walking distance to highly acclaimed 229 Parks Tavern (the BEST restaurant in AK) and Tonglen Lake Lodge & Artisan Café. Our packed gravel roads are easy to navigate and well-labeled with street signs, thus 4WD is not necessary. Please be conscious of your speed (10 mph) through our neighborhood as it is home to many families with dogs and small children. It is not uncommon to see us outside enjoying the long summer days; you may find us playing in the garden or yard, picking berries and the like, feel free to say hello! Transportation You must have a rental car as there is no local public transportation and having a rental car will give you the ability to get to places with ease and comfort. If you do take the train to Denali, please get a rental car from "Keys to Denali" or "Alaska Auto Rental". The Space Please note the entrance to the guest apartment is through our garage and up a staircase with banister. Once upstairs in the main living area, the mountain views will take your breath away! The apartment is an open floor plan studio suite (450 sqft), with a queen bed tucked behind a half wall, loveseat that converts into a twin bed, full kitchen, full bathroom with tub & shower, and a cozy dining area. There is also a queen-sized air mattress should your party require extra bedding. The space is fully equipped for those traveling with children, including a portable crib, toy box, children’s dishes and more. Please feel free to utilize our outdoor playset, tour the garden, or enjoy our social trails during your visit as well! Guest access We encourage you to buy groceries in Anchorage or Fairbanks and bring them with you to Denali, as the price, selection, and quality will be better. There is also a grocery store located in Healy (a 30-minute drive north) should you need last minute provisions. Basic cookware, dishes, coffee, tea, sugar and creamer are provided. We just ask that you be tidy and clean up after yourselves. The home has a washer/dryer for your use, it is located in the garage so please coordinate with the host, Leah before using. Guests have access to the entire apartment space. Guest parking is on the left side of the house beside the raised garden bed (clearly labeled). Interaction with guests The 3-acre forested property is tucked away at the end of a private driveway (Falcon). The main house is our primary residence and our home is a lively one; Keith is a firefighter and is often away on assignment during the summer, while Leah holds down the fort with two wild boys and two fluffy dogs. Most days, Leah can be found on the property chasing one or all the above. Please don’t hesitate to call, text or knock on the main entrance door if you need anything at all! Additional notes There is so much to do in Denali! And if traveling with children, feel free to contact the host, Leah, ahead of time as there are many pro-tips you may want to know when planning your trip (local activities, hikes, and restaurants that are especially kid-friendly). But FYI, getting here from Anchorage or Fairbanks takes a LONG time! So do your research about driving times, then relax and stay a while! You will be much happier to have a real home base for a few days while you hike, take in the scenery and local attractions, and have some down time during your vacation. Also, the longer you stay, the more opportunities you have for good windows of weather, and to see the BIG mountain, Denali! Additionally, our home is environmentally-conscious and we strive to minimize waste whenever possible. The hamper in the bathroom is for all dirty towels and linens. Please leave unused towels and linens folded on shelves. There is also a recycle bin available for all recyclable materials. Please do your dishes: there is a drying rack and mat on the counter beside the sink. Treat our home as if it were your own. We are sharing our home with you, please treat it respectfully. The cleaning fee is a fair Alaska wage for the time it takes to clean the Falcon's Roost apartment. Please do not leave a mess or you may be charged an additional amount from your deposit. I have lived in Alaska for nearly 40 years and traveled by dog sled, kayak, small plane and boat throughout the state. I have been hosting guests from around the world since 2006, and love telling folks about Alaska. Meeting my 2 sled dogs (Bronte, who lead and won the 2006 Iditarod, and Vincent, who kayaked 1000 miles down the Yukon River) - is frequently a highlight for visitors. Feasting on the homemade heirloom sourdough waffles is also a special treat! Rooms are large and filled with natural light in a space made for mountain living. When it’s time to retire from the day, unwind in the open and airy living room and enjoy the panoramic views from large picture windows. The bedroom offers a sumptuous Queen-size bed, complete with a down comforter and loads of fluffy pillows. A living room sofa also unfolds into an inviting Queen-size bed. The fully equipped kitchen has spices, oils, teas and coffee (any mode you want to make it – drip, French press, programmable coffee maker) as well as flour and popcorn. You will also find all the fixings for traditional sourdough waffles. A hands-on experience, you are provided with everything you need to make your own delicious sourdough waffles! 21 miles south of Denali National Park Entrance? We have a wonderfully unique place here and invite you to stay and experience with us the simple, quiet ALASKAN LIFESTYLE you dream about. This place, my homestead is currently about 50 acres, and includes three private crystal clear lakes full of huge fish, (fishing is an extra fee) organic garden, great walking, hiking and biking trails, lakeside sauna, while bordering the Jack River and situated in the most beautiful mountain valley anywhere along the road system in Alaska, never mind bordering Denali National Park. We only have two guest cabins currently, so reserving early is strongly advised. Average stay is 4 days and what we recommend to get a full experience. ? This is a great place for families, and get togethers. You are treated like family while here, so enjoy playing with the boats on the lakes, take a sauna and swim with the fish, help us feed the fish. This is a real nice cabin, mainly for a couple, honeymoon suite, but also is used for a larger group with tents set up in the yard and using the cabin as a base for the group. It has a lot of space around it, right on the lake, real close to the garden. It has a single full sized bed, full bathroom with hot and cold water, full kitchen with everything you need except your food, wood stove and oil stove (constant heat if you wish), your own fire pit, wifi, Apple tv, and the ALASKAN DECOR you are looking for. Most everyone loves this cabin, and returning guest always chose this one again and again. ~The only solar powered rentals in the Denali Park Area! Our whole homestead and business is 99% solar and wind powered. Also Alaska's first Public EV Charging Station powered by the sun. We have 3 private lakes on the property and they are all filled with beautiful Rainbow Trout and Arctic Grayling. Fishing in the lakes normally must be with a guide, and is an additional charge. this is all 'catch and release'. Unguided is possible for experienced anglers with their own gear for an access fee. Also, there is a beautiful stream within walking distance with arctic grayling that you can fish unguided or guided.
